I have been looking at a lot of photographs of abandoned stuff of late. There is a fascination here I cannot explain other there are untold stories in these photographs and question that are not answered. Who was the last person to sit in that chair? What song was the last one played on that piano? Why did the last people who lived her leave this stuff behind? Or perhaps the most fascinating: why does it look like one day their were people here living and then suddenly they were not living here and no one came back?
I Suppose it reminds me that all things come to an end but what is surprising seems to be how abrupt that end can come and leave everything behind as we left it only to face the slow decay of time. More disturbing than what were the last stories before this end was achieved is that there will be no more stories. These pictures show the end of stories and the silence of emptiness.
Not meaning to be depressing mind. I simply like to see life even in that which is deemed dead and useless. Even in the silent and abandoned one can use imagination and soul to bring them to life.
